There is really is nothing more delicious and satisfying than plucking fresh cherries straight from the tree and popping them into your mouth!
Well its cherry season in Gilgit-Baltistan and as I travel from valley to valley I am learning about the many different types of cherries from sour, sweet, ornamental and to those cherry trees that are grown for their wood rather than their fruit.
It’s a short season so I am definitely making the most of it with cherries for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as for any other time of the day! I am particularly enjoying fresh cherry juice – oh so good and long may the cherry season last.
